the WORD on the STREET
During
the week long CORE Hockey training camp, instructors complete
detailed evaluation forms to hand to the students at the week’s end.
The players are given constructive feedback on skating, puck-handling,
passing, and shooting skills, as well as hockey sense and effort. A
great deal of thought is put into the evaluations to help the students
focus on areas they can strengthen during the upcoming season.
The evaluation process is not limited to the
participants. The day prior to the camp’s end, students are sent home
with
a staff evaluation form to complete. Players
and parents are encouraged
to sit together when filling out the evaluation. We welcome this
forum, which allows those most important to the success of our program
an opportunity to give suggestions and comments about what they
enjoyed and what they might like to see in the future. We are firm
proponents in the adage that “one never learns from listening to
themselves talk.” We strive to improve every time we step onto the ice
as coaches and we try to impart this onto our players. Here are a few
comments students and parents have turned in over the past two years:
“I would highly recommend CORE Hockey to any young player looking to
develop their game.”
"I love the personal attention and the ratio of instructor to student
was perfect... the appearance of NHL players and coaches was exciting
for the kids!"
"The skill development and conditioning have been absolutely great,
but even more importantly, you have instilled a tremendous amount of
confidence in him."
"All the instructors were very well prepared and established a very
good rapport with all the players."
"The instructors were very knowledgeable and the drills effective and
varied."
"I had lots of fun and learned at the same time. I would do this all
summer."
“I would recommend this hockey camp to anyone and look forward to
attending next year.”
“CORE Hockey is WICKED, AWESOME, DEADLY!”
