PROFESSIONALISM & QUALITY

CORE Hockey was founded in 2005 in response to the demand for a high caliber camp in the Thunder Bay area. Parents and players alike were desperate for a camp whose focus was quality, not quantity. With this in mind we were determined, regardless of the bottom line, to ensure that every student who stepped onto the ice had constant attention from staff, as well as the lead instructors, making a conscious effort to leave no student behind, and to offer positive, encouraging, and constructive feedback to each and every player. We are aware that each camp is going to have a wide range of skill levels within a given age category. Still, we hold to the mind set that each and every student will receive equal instructor feed back. To maintain our standards, CORE Hockey pledges:

• All of our camps are capped to never have more than 40 skaters on the ice at one time.

• Instructor to student ratio is never greater than 1:6(sometimes as low as 1:5 or even 1:4)

It is also our belief that the camp needs to be operated on and off the ice with equal levels of professionalism. Those who run the camp need to be involved in every aspect of the daily operations. This is why we are always the first to arrive and the last to leave the arena and we are on the ice as the lead instructors for every camp. CORE Hockey support staff is of the highest quality both in hockey experience and in personal ethics. We relay to the staff that CORE Hockey is providing a service: Help all students achieve their hockey goals in a fun environment. We expect our staff to be:

• Punctual, presentable, and polite.

• Energetic and enthusiastic.

• Observant, helpful and understanding.

• Mindful in enforcing codes of behavior that ensure all students have fun and stay safe.
